An overview of our reservation process and rental policies is provided below. Clients will sign a rental agreement waiver online at the time of a reservation booking.
Reservations & Payment
​Reservations are confirmed once payment and rental details are completed through our booking system. The primary renter must meet the basic requirements listed below. • Be at least 21 years old for golf cart rentals • Present a valid driver's license at check-in • Provide proof of auto insurance for golf cart drivers • Only approved drivers listed at check-in may operate a golf cart​​
Delivery & Check-In
We deliver and pick up equipment at your vacation home or approved location within our service area. At delivery we review operation and safety, inspect the equipment with you, and confirm or complete your rental agreement and signed waiver. Equipment should be returned in the same condition it was received, aside from normal use.
Weather Policy
Coastal Alabama frequently experiences brief rain showers. Golf carts may be used in light rain. If severe weather, lightning, unsafe water conditions, or high winds are expected, we may delay, modify, or cancel a rental for safety reasons. Clients are encouraged to monitor local weather reports in order to cancel or reschedule at their own discretion according to our cancelation policy. When Alabay Cart & Kayak cancels due to unsafe conditions, renters may reschedule according to availability and receive a credit for a future reservation.
Cancellation Policy
More than 72 hours before rental: Full refund • 72 to 24 hours before rental: 50% refund • Less than 24 hours: Non-refundable • No-shows for scheduled deliveries or launches result in forfeiture of payment • Deposits may be applied to a future rental when cancellation timelines are met • Group reservations (two or more units) require a deposit and at least 10 days’ notice for a full refund • Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days
Driver & Usage Rules Street-Legal Golf Cart
• Only licensed drivers may operate carts • No smoking or vaping in the vehicle • No reckless driving or unsafe operation • Do not exceed passenger capacity • Renters are responsible for traffic violations, towing charges, or misuse during the rental period
Kayak Safety Guidelines
Kayaking involves inherent outdoor and water-related risks, including weather changes, currents, and natural obstacles. Life Jacket (PFD) Requirement Every participant must have a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved Personal Floatation Device (PFD) available and worn in accordance with safety guidelines while on the water. Alabama law requires all children under 8 years of age to wear a life jacket while aboard a vessel at all times. Kayaks are considered vessels under Alabama boating regulations. Alabay Cart & Kayak provides life jackets according to standard safety sizing: •Children under 50 lbs – a parents or guardian must provide a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard approved child life jacket. •50-90 lbs (Youth size) - Alabay Cart & Kayak provides a youth life jacket •90 lbs and over (Adult size) - Alabay Cart & Kayak provides an adult life jacket Adults are responsible for providing and fitting life jackets for children under 50 lbs. All kayaks are picked up at designated launch sites or waterfront homes, with the exception of the Fish River Launch. Participants choosing this day-trip route must arrange their own transportation back to the original launch location, which is approximately 8 minutes away by car.
Damage, Cleaning & Responsibility
• Renter is responsible for damage, loss, or theft during the rental period • Additional charges may apply for golf cart rentals that need excessive cleaning (sand, mud, spills) • Lost keys or accessories • Towing or recovery • Traffic violations
Waiver & Liability
Before delivery, renters will sign a rental agreement and liability waiver online acknowledging outdoor activity risks, responsibility for safe operation, and responsibility for medical or accident costs. The online waivers are available to view in there entirety by clicking the link below.
