We deliver kayaks to approved launch areas and waterfront homes throughout the Eastern Shore, including Weeks Bay, Magnolia Springs, and Fish River. We coordinate a simple drop-off and pickup so you can start paddling without hauling equipment. 📍 Launch Locations: Where can I launch a kayak near Fairhope? We currently deliver kayaks to several easy and enjoyable launch areas along the Eastern Shore, including: • Weeks Bay • Magnolia Springs / Magnolia River access • Fairhope Pier & South Beach Park shoreline • Fish River day trip paddle Fairhope Pier and South Beach Park are especially popular for mixed groups. Family members who are not paddling can relax on the beach, walk the pier, enjoy nearby restaurants, or take a golf cart ride to explore downtown shops while others kayak along the bay. There are many public launch points along the Fairhope and Eastern Shore waterways, and we are always happy to suggest additional locations. We often recommend the pier area because it offers a central meeting place, public restrooms, convenient parking, and activities for everyone in the group. For guests wanting a longer adventure, we also offer a scenic Fish River paddle. This is a 3-5 hour one-way trip that flows downriver to the historical Marlow Ferry at Farragut's Basin where we retrieve the kayaks. Because the trip ends at a different location than it begins, renters will need to arrange transportation back to their vehicle after the paddle. 🦺 Life Jackets: Are life jackets included? Yes. U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are included with every kayak rental. Children must wear one at all times, and jackets should remain accessible for all paddlers while on the water. 🌊 Beginners: Can first-time paddlers rent a kayak? Absolutely. Many of our guests are beginners. At delivery we provide simple instructions, safety tips, and basic paddling guidance so you feel comfortable before heading out. 🌅 Timing: What is the best time of day to kayak Weeks Bay? Mornings are usually the calmest with lighter winds and smoother water. Early evening paddles are also very popular, especially around sunset when the bay is quieter and temperatures are cooler. 🧰 Equipment Included: Do you provide paddles and safety gear? Yes. Each rental includes paddles and U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets. We also provide a tie-off line so you can secure the kayak at a dock, pier, or shoreline during stops along Fish River, Weeks Bay, or nearby Eastern Shore waterways. 👶🛶 Can we bring a young child on a kayak with us? Yes. Our tandem sit-on-top kayaks were selected with families in mind, and many guests enjoy bringing a young child along. In calm waterways such as Fish River, a small child (typically around age 3–4 and up) may comfortably sit at the front while a supervising adult paddles. We recommend choosing a gentle route and remaining within protected areas with minimal boat traffic. Fish River is a favorite for families, offering slow-moving, mostly shallow water and peaceful scenery. Many guests enjoy stopping along the way for a relaxed meal at Big Daddy’s Grill before continuing downstream. In wider sections of the river, paddlers often remain closer to the shoreline where conditions are calmer and wildlife is frequently seen. Parents sometimes bring additional personal safety items for their own comfort and supervision preferences. All children must wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times. The supervising adult is responsible for direct supervision, safe operation of the kayak, and acknowledgement of the rental agreement and liability waiver at booking.
